Humans have built some pretty incredible things. Washing machines now take care of our clothing, and we can even order food online directly from our fridge… but how cool are our giant robots, y’all!? From an anti-robot that could form part of a racing squad to a Russian robot that got fired, here are 15 of the most incredible giant robots in the world.

# Ultra Hydrobhobic Material ( Gentoo )
Gentoo is the next generation of corrosion-resistant and easy-cleaning coatings. With its combination of high performing abrasion resistance and very low sliding angle, Gentoo excels where other coatings have fallen short goo.gl/LgBgXL goo.gl/vcfXEd goo.gl/n8yzDV goo.gl/rGUikJ
# Triiodide
n chemistry, triiodide is usually referred to the triiodide ion, I−
3. This anion, one of the polyhalogen ions, is composed of three iodine atoms. It is formed by combining aqueous solutions of iodide salts and iodine. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triiodide goo.gl/AVfLSk goo.gl/dFnZSu goo.gl/X7fgnL goo.gl/t3nYZd goo.gl/xEJXeb
# Hydrogel
Hydrogel products constitute a group of polymeric materials, the hydrophilic structure of which renders them capable of holding large amounts of water in their three-dimensional networks. Extensive employment of these products in a number of industrial and environmental areas of application is considered to be of prime importance goo.gl/T85Nkj en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gel goo.gl/SQj5zg goo.gl/gTmWe3 goo.gl/i99LTk goo.gl/BfVgKN
# Nitinol
Nitinol alloys exhibit two closely related and unique properties: shape memory effect (SME) and superelasticity (SE; also called pseudoelasticity, PE). Shape memory is the ability of nitinol to undergo deformation at one temperature, then recover its original, undeformed shape upon heating above its «transformation temperature». en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nickel_titanium goo.gl/mtFu8S goo.gl/kdUshM goo.gl/ncXF3X goo.gl/sbnvtY goo.gl/Uc3pdX goo.gl/V3DWEx
# Gallium metal
Gallium is predominantly used in electronics. Gallium arsenide, the primary chemical compound of gallium in electronics, is used in microwave circuits, high-speed switching circuits, and infrared circuits en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gallium goo.gl/2jv7P1 goo.gl/B8KMqf goo.gl/1Lsk9n goo.gl/YPfRzH goo.gl/6Td8Q4 goo.gl/va94iV
# Aerogel
It looks like frozen smoke. And it's the lightest solid material on the planet. Aerogel insulates space suits, makes tennis rackets stronger and could be used one day to clean up oil spills. goo.gl/Wq69zr goo.gl/6ag7zV goo.gl/2LAJSy goo.gl/Z5BV5g goo.gl/hw8m81 goo.gl/hVqBz1
# Magnetic Thinking Putty!
Magnetic Thinking Putty takes regular «silly» putty and turns its awesomeness up to 11. Like any other putty, it can be stretched, bounced, molded, popped, and torn. However, when this putty is in the presence of a magnetic field, it exhibits fascinating properties goo.gl/Pvos7a goo.gl/1Tg8Cg goo.gl/zTHbwJ goo.gl/TSrQSN goo.gl/W37Wyh goo.gl/4C1avx

Robot shark: GhostSwimmer drone developed by U.S. Navy looks and swims like a shark
The U.S. Navy has developed a new unmanned underwater vehicle that looks and swims like a shark.
The U.S. Navy’s new robot shark, called GhostSwimmer, is 5 feet long and weighs about 100 pounds, making it about the size of an albacore tuna, according to Wired. The robot uses its tail for propulsion. Because it looks and moves like a real fish, the GhostSwimmer is hard to spot and thus ideally suited for surveillance missions
The robot can operate in depths ranging from 10 inches to 300 feet. It can be controlled via a 500-foot-long tether and transmit video and data in real time. It can also be launched without a tether and transmit data when it surfaces after underwater missions, Gizmag reported.
The robot will be used for “surveillance, mine countermeasures, port security, and other defense and homeland security initiatives,” the U.S. Navy said in a statement according to the Register. The GhostSwimmer is part of the Silent NEMO project, which draws inspiration from objects in the natural world to make robotic designs.

Spot is a new smaller version of the Spot Classic robot, weighing 55 lbs dripping wet (65 lbs if you include its arm.) Spot is all-electric (no hydraulics) and runs for about 90 minutes on a charge, depending on what it is doing. Spot is one of the quietest robots we have ever built. It has a variety of sensors, including depth cameras, a solid state gyro (IMU) and proprioception sensors in the limbs. These sensors help with navigation and mobile manipulation. Spot performs some tasks autonomously, but often uses a human for high-level guidance. For more information about Spot visit our website at www.BostonDynamics.com
