The TCM is a machine capable of laying sleepers and rails continuously on a track construction worksite. A track construction worksite with a TCM is organized in two stages: pulling the long welded rails on the platform ahead of the machine, laying the sleepers followed by the insertion of the rails onto the sleepers.

Государственно-партийное заклинание «советское — значит лучшее» вынуждало искажать факты и цифры, закрывать глаза на ошибки и раздувать масштабы побед. После развала СССР тенденция поменялась: ничего хорошего никогда не было и уже не будет, потому что наши «шедевры» отечественного автопрома годятся только на металлолом. Нам предстоит установить в этом вопросе разумный паритет. Для этого мы будем использовать архивные материалы, выслушивать мнение независимых экспертов, вместе с профессиональными механиками разбираться в конструкции и характеристиках отечественных автолегенд.
