River of Grass: Virtual Reality Interactive Everglades Tunnel Exhibit



The interactive River of Grass virtual reality exhibit is a large room stuffed from floor to ceiling with technology to give young children and their parents the experience of a fully animated interactive day in the Everglades.
Targeted at preschool kids, the virtual reality exhibit provides a host of playful interactions within the virtual environment to stimulate understanding of Florida's precious wetland ecosystem. Using 16 projectors and 7 networked motion detectors to control procedural animations in the custom C++ 3D application, we believe we pushed the boundaries of interactive virtual reality for museums.
Exploring the space, young visitors experience the differing lighting conditions as time progresses from dawn to dusk and through the night, meeting the animals that are active during these time periods.
Each animal has its own distinct personality and interactions, reacting to the movement and behaviour of the children.
Children and their parents can also affect the water flowing through the tunnel by using the log props provided to dam up the river beneath their feet. These actions visibly affect the plants and animals down river and teaches young visitors about water dynamics in the Everglades. Children also get the opportunity to learn about weather dynamics and witness the pertinent changesthat happen over the seasons as they progress through the exhibit.
Finally, at the end of the virtual reality exhibit experience, the young visitors can make use of the torch props provided to light up the night-time view of the Everglades and spot animals they would not otherwise be able to see.

— Всем привет, Друзья. Многие из тех, кто следит за моим каналом знают, что я, уже который месяц, не могу забрать свою лодку PRINCESS 50 из Эстонии. Всему виной болезнь, о которой вы и сами все знаете. Пол сезона прошло, позади несколько не удачных попыток пересечь границу. Сегодня я расскажу о третей попытки забрать «Принцессу». УГНАЛ PRINCESS 50. ЯХТА за $ 1.000.000. Как я пересек границу и один перегнал лодку из Эстонии в Санкт Петербург. Это мой Побег из Таллина и моя дорога домой
На границе все было не так просто. Эстонские пограничники долго совещались, сомневаясь достаточно ли у меня оснований въехать в страну. И вот, кульминация, отпечатки, печать. Я въезжаю в Эстонию!!!
Льёт дождь. А впереди 200 км езды на мотоцикле. По приезду в яхт клуб я промок до нитки. Была ночь. Моя лодка стояла пришвартованная и закрытая. Делать нечего, на палубе под диванчиками есть люк, через него я попал в каюту капитана. Укутался всеми пледами что у меня были. Переночевал там.
Следующие два дня я ждал пока Погода наладится. Параллельно готовил лодку PRINCESS 50. Поменял акумы, как мог обслужил ЯХТА за $ 1.000.000. Проверил все системы. Впереди волнительный переход в одиночку. Побег из Таллина. Дорога домой. Мотоцикл мне помогли закрепить на палубе принцессы стропами. Рано утром я отправился в путь. Тонна топлива. 12 часов хода. Ни кто не поможет если что то пойдёт не так. Лодка может сломаться. Я могу уснуть потерять контроль. Может испортится Погода. Мотоцикл на скорости может упасть за борт и я не успею с этим ничего сделать. Я могу упасть за борт!!! И тогда точно все пропало. Масса всего могло пойти не так. Но я держался. Сохранял самообладание и контроль. Грела одна единственная мысль — моя «Принцесса» скор будет в Питере.
