Mammoet animation of Trailer Power Assist (TPA)



Trailer Power Assist (TPA) is a new heavy transport solution developed by Mammoet in cooperation with SCHEUERLE that greatly increases transport efficiency and safety. The TPA-system is based on the SCHEUERLE K25 trailer, which is fitted with a Power Pack Unit (PPU) that hydraulically powers 4 of the 6 axle lines. One TPA can replace at least two trucks in conventional heavy transport, limiting down the number of trucks required to pull and steer to just one – whilst greatly enhancing trailer combination versatility, maneuverability, and safety of the entire transport. 1,640,000 pound petrochemical splitter being transported in Edmonton, Alberta



This video was recorded on January 7th at about 12:10am on Whitemud Drive at the 50th Street intersection in Edmonton Alberta. The petrochemical splitter is heading to Heartland Petrochemical Complex, which is currently being built outside Fort Saskatchewan Alberta.
This particular splitter separates propylene from propane, which is then processed into a recyclable plastic known as polypropylene.

Dit gebeurde er op de Mammoet Open Dag! | #ITSMYDRIVE



Mammoet organiseerde op 22 september 2018 een open dag in thuishaven Schiedam. Laat me je meenemen naar die bewuste zaterdag…
Mammoet laat zich het beste beschrijven als ’s werelds grootste hijs- en zwaar transport bedrijf. Overal waar je komt is Mammoet wel te vinden, rijdend of hijsend.
Vandaag krijg ik de kans mij helemaal onder te dompelen in de wereld van Mammoet en een kijkje achter de schermen te nemen. Het duizelt me een beetje van de hoeveelheid (zwaar) materieel dat staat opgesteld. Kranen, vrachtauto’s, hijsmateriaal… En er is zoveel te doen vandaag! Van het zelf besturen van een kraan tot het bekijken van demonstraties van speciaal equipment, zoals de op afstand bedienbare ‘trailer’ SPMT. En met een virtual reality bril kan je op een digitale manier bijna levensecht de wereld van kranen en zwaar transport beleven.
Om de Mammoet-werf helemaal te kunnen zien, is er de mogelijkheid om met de Spido-rondvaartboot ‘Abel Tasman’ over de Nieuwe Maas te varen. Ik laat de rondvaart even voor wat het is en ga op zoek naar het team van Mammoet Rallysport.
Tussen alle auto’s van het team, vertelt Martin van den Brink dat de rally truck de avond ervoor speciaal voor de Open Dag uit Tsjechië naar Nederland is gekomen -en vanavond ook weer terug naar Tsjechië gaat. Uniek dus dat de truck er vandaag is én dat je er in plaats kan nemen!
Jan van Wees sr., ook wel bekend als ‘opa’, is ook aanwezig. Jammer genoeg tref ik hem niet op het moment dat ik het House of History bewonder. Ik had graag even met hem gesproken over hoe het er vroeger aan toe ging!

Mammoet Hydraulic Climbing Jacks



Mammoet’s Hydraulic Climbing Jacks offer a simple and efficient solution for moving objects vertically. Compact and easy to mobilize, every unit can lift or lower loads up to 600 tons. A simple jacking operation requires a minimum of four climbing jacks. The jacks are available in several sizes, allowing customers to select the optimal jack for each operation.
This clip illustrates how a climbing jack works. The piston in the jack extends, raising the object one stroke. Two timbers are slid underneath the jack, and the jack is lowered onto the timbers. The piston is then is retracted, and three additional timbers are slid underneath the piston, allowing the climbing jack to repeat the procedure until the object reaches the desired height.
