SpaceX Starship Flight to 60,000ft — From Hop to Bellyflop

The first 200 get 20% off the annual Brilliant subscription! brilliant.org/MarcusHouse/. We are counting down to the test of the SpaceX Starship Flight to 60,000ft that we’ve all been waiting for. «From Hop to Bellyflop», this is Starship Serial Number 8 which is well underway and we hope only weeks away from a flight test just above 18 kilometers in altitude. Mix that with the many starship prototypes in development and the rapid evolution of the construction and launch sites at Boca Chica and we have loads to catch up on. And along with that, we have some interesting updates on the human landing system by Dynetics and some updates on Astra’s launch failure from Alaska.

After the moon: What's next for space exploration? - BBC News

After the moon: What's next for space exploration? — BBC News

The space race between the capitalist US and communist USSR saw decades of competition to push the boundaries of what mankind could achieve in space, all in the name of ideological superiority.
Now, a new contest is underway, but instead of a clash of cultures, this is a clash of egos — between two billionaires who made their fortune on the internet.
But Amazon's Jeff Bezos and Tesla's Elon Musk don't simply want to get us back to space — they want us to stay there.

Trajectory: Milestones in Space Exploration — Episode 10: Moon Landing; Dragon, Falcon & SpaceX and Gaia | Space Documentary
Today, although a cloud of satellites surrounds the planet, many records set during the early decades of space exploration remain unsurpassed. It's more than forty years since the last man walked on the moon and the world no longer has a reusable spacecraft. Trajectory looks at milestones in space exploration along with the latest scientific and commercial developments.
Space Milestones:
— To The Moon: The Apollo program achieves its major objective.
— Dragon, Falcon & SpaceX: New directions in re-usable spacecraft.
— Gaia: Mapping our galaxy in unprecedented detail.

How Elon Musk is Building a Railroad to Space (Starship & SpaceX)

How Elon Musk is Building a Railroad to Space (Starship & SpaceX)

The Starship is the rocket that is going to get SpaceX and Elon Musk onto Mars. Allowing Elon to start building the Mars city of the future.
This video documentary breaks down the Starship rocket program by Elon Musk and SpaceX. Taking a look at the investment and cost of the project. Breaking down the different parts of the rocket, showing how powerful it is, and what it will be able to do.
The video explores what missions the Starship could already be signed up for, from Starlink launches to NASA's 2024 Moon Program. And how far along is the Starship project, and when will we be able to see SpaceX launch the Starship.
Here are a few of the other Starship, and space business topics covered in this video presentation: why Elon Musk says the Starship is a railroad for space, the difference between the Starship and the Super Heavy Booster, how Starship will refuel in orbit, how much more powerful it is than the Saturn rocket that took humans to the Moon, how much interior space is there in the Starship, how Starship could be its own space station, the joint NASA and SpaceX partnership working together on the Artemis Moon program, the Dear Moon project, Starship launch animations, and the different tests Starship has been doing so far.

NASA's laser-powered spacecraft will fly to Mars in 72 hours - Mars exploration compilation

NASA's laser-powered spacecraft will fly to Mars in 72 hours — Mars exploration compilation

1. NASA was forced to cancel six attempted launches of a saucer-shaped Mars landing test vehicle in early June, 2014 because of unusually strong winds at the Hawaiian test site.
2. NASA scientist Philip Lubin is working on perfecting laser technology that could propel a light spacecraft to Mars in as little as three days.
3. NASA is developing an inflatable heat shield it plans to test in 2016 that could one day be used to send astronauts to Mars.
4. Fusion rocket engines could take a manned crew to Mars in 30 to 90 days, NASA-funded scientists at the University of Washington say.
5. A NASA-funded study written by aerospace engineering company SpaceWorks says that keeping astronauts unconscious during long flights in space cuts down on the equipment and resources needed on the shuttle, and also eliminates the negative psychological effects of long hauls in space.

SpaceX DM-2 Flight Day Highlights - May 30, 2020

SpaceX DM-2 Flight Day Highlights — May 30, 2020

Almost nine years after the final space shuttle mission, SpaceX launched its Falcon 9 rocket from the Kennedy Space Center, Florida May 30, an American rocket launching from American soil, placing NASA astronauts Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken into orbit in the new Crew Dragon spacecraft for their journey to the International Space Station. Some 12 minutes after a spectacular liftoff from Launch Pad 39-A, Crew Dragon separated from the second stage of the Falcon 9 rocket and Hurley and Behnken began monitoring a series of test objectives for the duration of the vehicle’s 19-hour flight to the orbital outpost in the first crewed mission for the Commercial Crew Program. The veteran astronauts are scheduled to oversee an automated docking of Crew Dragon to the station May 31 to join NASA astronaut and Expedition 63 Commander Chris Cassidy of NASA and Russian crewmates Anatoly Ivanishin and Ivan Vagner.

SLS VS Starship: Why does SLS still exist?!

SLS VS Starship: Why does SLS still exist?!

NASA just announced the lunar landers for the Artemis program and to everyone’s surprise, SpaceX’s MASSIVE Starship is actually one of the landers NASA chose alongside Blue Origin and Dynetics.
And this is bringing up a lot of questions, some of which we’ll answer in my next video, “Should NASA just cancel SLS and use Starship and / or other commercial launchers for Artemis?”. But today I think we need to settle a lot of debates here first about these two rockets and now more than ever, it’s time we truly pit them head to head.
