You've probably heard about an unusual science called cryonics — the low-temperature freezing and storage of humans and animals, with the speculative hope that resurrection may be possible in the future.
The technology for revitalization has not yet been invented. However, some people pay thousands of dollars to preserve their brain after death and spend decades in the freezer. There is little question that NATO weaponry remains technologically ahead of Russian. The existence of a gap was clear in the 1980s, and the size of the gulf has grown since. However, the Russian military still commands sufficient resources, and can harness enough innovative thinking, to hurt NATO if a European dispute ever came to blows.
We hope, of course, that these weapons (and their equivalents on the NATO side) fulfill their purpose as deterrents. Nevertheless, it behooves NATO to think hard about how to solve the problems that these weapons present, especially when used in conjunction with one another.

The Gundam Factory in Yokohama, just south of Tokyo, took their life-sized replica of the RX-78 model for a spin. Standing at 60 feet tall and 25 tons, this marvelous recreation is capable of kneeling, moving its fingers, and pointing to the sky, making it the first of its kind to feature a wide array of movements.
