Software will pilot self-driving cars and aerial drones. AI is rapidly opening up new vistas, but turning blind corners at speed can be risky. How sensible is this type of progress, and at which point should society step in and set limits to its development?

Fast Charge ep. 37: iPhone 12 launch, OnePlus 8T review & a budget flagship face-off
We all know the big news this week: Apple has unveiled the iPhone 12 range, with a whopping four phones this time round. Meanwhile the OnePlus 8T has arrived too, and with the team also reviewing the Pixel 5 and Galaxy S20 FE, it got us thinking: which is the best budget flagship?
We're kicking this week off with the iPhone 12, which is joined by the 12 mini, 12 Pro, and 12 Pro Max. All four phones include 5G, OLED, and a new design, though of course, the Pro models pack a few extra photography tricks in too.
The OnePlus 8T is a more conservative upgrade, but with 65W charging, 120Hz, and Android 11 it's still a decent step up from the 8 — and at £50/$50 cheaper it's pretty damn tempting.
And its price puts it right up against the Pixel 5 and Samsung Galaxy S20 FE. We've reviewed all three phones on the site this week, so it seemed only right to put the three phones head to head and crown the best budget flagship of 2020.

Lenovo Yoga Slim 7-14 14ARE05 — это не ноутбук-трансформер, какими мы привыкли видеть представителей семейства Yoga, а компактный аппарат в цельнометаллическом корпусе цвета Orchid (по-простому – «фиолетовый»). Он сочетает в себе большой запас мощности шестиядерного процессора AMD Ryzen 5 4600U с долгим временем автономной работы (его хватит на целый рабочий день, и даже останется на пасьянс по дороге домой). Помимо процессора из технических характеристик стоит упомянуть 16 ГБ оперативной памяти LPDDR4X (распаяна на плате в двухканальном режиме), быстрый твердотельный накопитель M.2 PCIe и возможность установки еще одной «твердотелки» во второй слот M.2 (туда уже нужна короткая версия — 2242). Под стать отличным техническим характеристикам и экран этой машинки. Здесь используется 14-дюймовая IPS-матрица с тончайшими рамками, разрешением FullHD и 100% охватом цветового пространства sRGB. В Yoga Slim 7-14 установлена весьма качественная акустическая система, его клавиатура наделена светодиодной подсветкой белого цвета, а продуманная система охлаждения дает возможность каждому найти баланс между высокой производительностью и минимальным уровнем шума. А еще здесь есть инфракрасная камера, так что компьютер может узнавать пользователя в лицо даже в полной темноте.

Prior to LG's CES 2020 press conference this morning, the company had already revealed a slew of «Real 8K» televisions, and announced that the rollable 4K OLED TV we saw at last year's show will be ready to go on sale later this year. Both of those were present in its demo area, and looked impressive. 8K is sharp on LCD «NanoCell» screens, but the 8K OLED really popped, even if it was only playing demo content and hard to compare directly to what we've seen before from 4K OLED screens. Meanwhile, the rollable screen LG is planning on selling still only rolls one way, and won't have some of the features other new TVs have (like ATSC 3.0 compatibility to receive 4K via antenna) when it finally ships.
Of course, those aren't the only TVs that LG will put on the market in 2020, and now the company is ready to talk about more of the lineup.
