Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold | Bendy PC Hands-On

Hands-on review of Lenovo's ThinkPad X1 Fold, a foldable tablet PC which resembles a bendy Surface Pro. I had a play with a prototype model (unveiled at CES 2020) which shows off the clever folding design and how this smart convertible can be used in a variety of forms. Hold it like a tablet or use it as a laptop, complete with Bluetooth keyboard accessory — the ThinkPad X1 Fold is a versatile wee beast.
Lenovo's well-balanced design is a marvel, complete with a leather cover for a premium finish. The foldable 13.3-inch screen was constructed in collaboration with LG, offering a crease-free finish thanks to the 4-part hinge design. And you also have full stylus support for getting creative.
We don't know the final specs for the X1 Fold just yet, but like other ThinkPads you can expect a choice of chipsets for a rage of prices. Battery life will hopefully be solid, Lenovo reckons it's seeing 11 hours of mixed use from these early models.
So is the Lenovo Fold a strong rival to the likes of Microsoft's Surface Pro 7? Stay tuned for a full review when it's released in the UK, US and other regions mid-2020.
