Как бы это забавно ни звучало, но идея скрестить вертолёт с самолётом буквально «витала» в воздухе. Первые попытки «скрещивания» были произведены еще в начале XX века и привели к появлению таких устройств, как автожир и винтокрыл, однако, эти устройства оказались малоэффективными, и скорее совмещали недостатки двух устройств. А вот вариант аппарата, у которого одни и те же винты работают и как несущий винт, и как толкающий винт в режиме самолета, казался самым удачным…
