What happened to Elon Musk's Boring Company bricks?

What happened to Elon Musk's Boring Company bricks?

What happened to the Brick Store? In 2018, Elon Musk annouced that the Boring Company would start a spin-off called The Brick Store. The excavated earth from digging the tunnels would be used to create earth+concrete bricks that would sell for 10 cents each. They would be free if used for affordable housing. But we haven't heard anything about them since…

New Mars Curiosity Rover Pictures

New Mars Curiosity Rover Pictures

We follow the Curiosity Rover on Mars as it climbs up a Martian mountain named Mount Sharp. We have selected only the clearest footage from Mars to give you a sense of actually being there alongside Curiosity. All the places that NASA has explored have been given nicknames, which you will see in the video. Some of the images have been 'white balanced' by NASA to give geologists a clearer view of the rocks.
A quick summary of the Journey:
Landing in the Gale Crater, Curiosity heads towards Yellowknife Bay, taking its first drive over 'Glenelg'. In Yellowknife Bay, Curiosity finds the first evidence that the Gale Crater was once filled with salty water.
Curiosity goes on to explore the Bagnold Dunes and crosses through the Naukluft Plateau into Murray Buttes where it begins to ascend Mount Sharp. Climbing on top of 'Vera Rubin Ridge' provides Curiosity with a magnificent view, from where we started in the Gale Crater.

HASSELL + EOC presents MARS HABITAT

HASSELL + EOC presents MARS HABITAT

The HASSELL design for a Mars Habitat has reached the final 10 of NASA’s 3D Printing Centennial Challenge. This NASA competition sought perspectives from outside the traditional aerospace industry, to explore how a human habitat could be designed and delivered on Mars using autonomous 3D printing technologies. HASSELL partnered with Eckersley O’Callaghan to design the external shell which could be constructed entirely by autonomous robots using Mars’ natural regolith.
Final film has been made in collaboration with the team at LightField London.

Footnotes, Further Reading & Resources:
Some of the best information I’ve come across relating to Mars exploration, and indeed anything going on in regards to manned and unmanned space exploration, is Andrew LePage’s website, www.drewexmachina.com. LePage really does his homework, uncovering the secrets behind the mysterious Zond 2 probe, illuminating the overall contributions and fate of Mariner 3 and providing a much-needed context for the early days of the interplanetary missions of the Soviet Union. If you are a fan of space exploration history, you owe it to yourself to bookmark this page (http://bit.ly/22sPyAp).
Ricardo Nunes’s website (http://bit.ly/24EgG1s) has some really interesting imagery and information regarding the Soviet Union’s Phobos missions. Ricardo was gracious enough to allow me to use some of the corrected imagery for this Curioh episode. Absolutely worth taking a look.
Donald Mitchell has a really great collection of Soviet and Russian images from Mars missions (http://bit.ly/1Td3dcx). This includes images from the Mars 3, Mars 4 and Mars 5 missions as well as the Phobos 2 mission and others. Highly recommended.
Amy Shira Teitel of Vintage Space, provided information about the first attempt rovers destined for Mars — the Prop-M rovers from the Soviet Union. Here she discusses these pioneering machines in a video for Scientific American (http://bit.ly/1ptMxkK). You can find her on Twitter, too (http://bit.ly/1PkyUP4).
Fun side note: Russian Rockets are interesting (http://bit.ly/1Uog24B)
Historicspacecraft.com has a fantastic list of Mars missions from various nations (http://bit.ly/1pvZIAW).

Watch Blue Origin test a landing system for NASA with their New Shepard rocket!

NASA has partnered with Blue Origin and will put their new technology on the booster stage in order to test it in hopes that it will be suitable enough to be used a quarter of a million miles away on the Moon. This will be another short, suborbital flight out of Blue Origin’s private facility on Corn Ranch located in West Texas, United States of America.

Not everyone knows this, but Tesla had a lifelong dream of being the first man to fly, of course, with an electric airplane. Little did he know that it would take decades for electric powered airplanes to come true and no, he was not the first man to fly.
But the dream was there, and he even patented schematics for an eclectically powered aerial transportation system to which I did my best to make this 3D model, so you my dear viewer can see it in detail.
Now, today we can spot many problems with his designs, but this was an idea that started taking shape back in 1886 which sort of justifies it.
Nevertheless, he got the patent in 1921 where he goes into detail describing this mode of transportation. The cool thing about it is that his machine allowed for vertical and horizontal takeoff except that vertical takeoff would most likely not work, but the again helicopters would only become a thing in 1936.
Ok, cool but what does this have anything to do with his turbine?
How on to your lunch my dear viewer cause things are about to get interesting.
