How Tesla Battery Farms Changed the Lives of Australians

How Tesla Battery Farms Changed the Lives of Australians

Elon Musk's Battery farm has been life changing for the people from South Australia. Before there used to be frequent power cuts not to mention high electricity prices. But how can a nation that has one of the highest reserves of Coal and Natural gas still struggle to provide its people Electricity.
The problem was exacerbated by the Gale winds which damaged the already frail infrastructure of South Australia. Tesla's Powerwall and Battery Storage Solutions came to the rescue of South Australians.
In this video we take a look at how Elon Musk's Battery farms changed the World in terms of renewable energy storage solutions and how countries are slowly moving towards clean Energy.

Why renewables can’t save the planet | Michael Shellenberger | TEDxDanubia

Why renewables can’t save the planet | Michael Shellenberger | TEDxDanubia

Environmentalists have long promoted renewable energy sources like solar panels and wind farms to save the climate. But what about when those technologies destroy the environment? In this provocative talk, Time Magazine “Hero of the Environment” and energy expert, Michael Shellenberger explains why solar and wind farms require so much land for mining and energy production, and an alternative path to saving both the climate and the natural environment. Michael Shellenberger is a Time Magazine Hero of the Environment and President of Environmental Progress, a research and policy organization. A lifelong environmentalist, Michael changed his mind about nuclear energy and has helped save enough nuclear reactors to prevent an increase in carbon emissions equivalent to adding more than 10 million cars to the road. He lives in Berkeley, California. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

Every year, the world uses 35 billion barrels of oil. This massive scale of fossil fuel dependence pollutes the earth, and it won’t last forever. On the other hand, we have abundant sun, water and wind, which are all renewable energy sources. So why don’t we exchange our fossil fuel dependence for an existence based only on renewables? Federico Rosei and Renzo Rosei describe the challenges.

The film tacks together two tales: a historical account of Tesla's eventful life and his pioneering research into physics and bold experiments with electricity.
Suffering from a fatal malady as a child the future great physicist promised his parents that he would recover under the sole condition...if they allowed him to become an engineer. And he kept his promise. Never ending yearning for knowledge, research practice, creative endeavor, discoveries that have unfixed all established notions — that's what was the characteristic of the great physicist. Nikola Tesla would always remain a scientist whose life was a sort of mystification rather than pure reality.

What if neither distance nor language mattered? What if technology could help you be anywhere you need to be and speak any language? Using AI technology and holographic experiences this is possible, and it is revolutionary.

Typo correction: At 14 minutes 45 seconds, the last index on the bias vector is n, when it's supposed to in fact be a k. Thanks for the sharp eyes that caught that!
For those who want to learn more, I highly recommend the book by Michael Nielsen introducing neural networks and deep learning: goo.gl/Zmczdy
There are two neat things about this book. First, it's available for free, so consider joining me in making a donation Nielsen's way if you get something out of it. And second, it's centered around walking through some code and data which you can download yourself, and which covers the same example that I introduce in this video. Yay for active learning!

How artificial intelligence is changing our society | DW Documentary

How artificial intelligence is changing our society | DW Documentary

Artificial intelligence (AI) is changing our lives. It touches on all aspects of society — private life, business, security — including in the spread of fake news and the challenges posed by the advent of autonomous weapons.
This documentary looks at the rapid change digitalization is causing as it unfolds. In particular, breakthroughs in artificial intelligence are opening completely new horizons. In their film about AI, Tilman Wolff and Ranga Yogeshwar examine the role AI plays in the spread of fake news. They also consider a future with robots and the risks and ethical questions posed by the development of autonomous weapons. To address these issues, they travel the globe to speak with leading experts. AI can generate perfectly forged sound and videos, making it effective for purveying fake news. Discerning the truth from fiction will become increasingly difficult. Technology will streamline work, making some jobs surplus to requirements. Software will pilot self-driving cars and aerial drones. AI is rapidly opening up new vistas, but turning blind corners at speed can be risky. How sensible is this type of progress, and at which point should society step in and set limits to its development?
